Tile is an extremely versatile product; it can be installed practically anywhere including outside, above, on or below grade and even in showers. There are several types of tile available such as ceramic, porcelain, glass, metal and natural stone including travertine, limestone, marble and slate. There are literally thousands of options to choose from. Tiles vary in size from 5/8”x5/8” mosaics to over 48”x48”. They come in different shapes and can be installed in many different patterns, each of which will influence the look and feel of your space. While no tile is unbreakable, ceramic and porcelain tile are extremely durable flooring choices and will provide high resistance to scratching and cracking when properly installed.
Carpet is by far the warmest and softest of all flooring types. It is available in a variety of styles, materials and patterns. Carpet can be used in many different applications including residential, commercial and some can even be installed outdoors. Carpet can trap dust and allergens better than a hard surface so when vacuumed frequently, will actually help reduce packing. It also has excellent sound deadening properties so a carpeted room will seem much quieter than one with a hard surface.
Not all carpet is created equal! Ask our consultant about the difference and the benefits of the different types of fibres and which would be best suited for your lifestyle and budget. We also provide custom area rugs in any shape or size!
Hardwood (Solid & Engineered) is one of the most popular flooring choices. Not only does it add character to your home, it increases the resale value more than any other type of flooring. Hardwood is a natural product and much of its beauty comes from the inherent variation; no two boards are identical. There are lots of things to consider when selecting hardwood such as wood species, grade (how much character), board width and engineered vs. solid boards.
Laminate is a very popular and cost effective flooring option. It provides the look and warmth of hardwood and is available in a wide variety of styles, colours and plank sizes. The advantage of laminate over hardwood is that it is less likely to scratch and dent but still gives you the look of hardwood. It can also be installed in below grade applications, such as a basement.
Luxury Vinyl Plank, also known as LVP, is composed of a lino-like patterned/textured wear layer over a flexible backing. The major benefit of LVP is that if one piece gets damaged, it is relatively simple to replace. It is an excellent option for a variety of applications, and comes in a variety of sizes
Lino has come a long way in recent years and the products we have in our showroom feature incredibly dynamic and realistic looking tile, stone and wood patterns. While lino can be very cost effective, it is available in a wide range of price points and has some really great benefits when compared to tile or hardwood. It’s more resilient than hardwood and softer and warmer than tile.
